National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia Joins Hand with BookDoc for Better Kidney Health
Selangor, Monday, 4 April: The National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) and BookDoc, an online healthcare app with presence in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, are entering into a collaboration to ease the search by the public for kidney-related information and services. This collaboration was officiated by Mr Chua Hong Wee, the CEO of NKF and Dato’ Chevy Beh, founder and CEO of BookDoc.
Under this collaboration, the general public can search for the contact information of all NKF dialysis centres at all times via BookDoc mobile app, which is available for free in both App Store and Google Play Store. In addition, users can apply to become NKF patients and navigate to the nearest centre through BookDoc’s add-on features and embedded links.
To promote awareness, accessibility and convenience a step further, the public will now be able to search and choose the schedules and locations for their free NKF LifeCheck Health Screening at no cost through BookDoc. Launched in 2008, NKF LifeCheck is a mobile healthcare screening service, provided through a specially fitted bus that travels to different scheduled locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia. To use the service, users just need to download BookDoc App, register and search for “NKF LifeCheck” before making any booking. With this, communities visited by NKF LifeCheck buses will have the health screening service at their doorsteps booked through their fingertips.
“Even though BookDoc has only been launched less than 6 months ago, being a responsible corporate citizen lies the very heart of our foundation. The collaboration with NKF is our first Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. In conjunction with World Kidney Day on March 10, BookDoc will be launching a fundraising campaign for NKF. From 4 April till 30 June 2016, for every new user from NKF that registers with BookDoc, we will be donating RM1 to NKF”, said Dato’ Chevy Beh.
Mr Chua Hong Wee added that, “NKF is glad to have an additional partner to support our efforts to raise the standards of care we provide to patients with kidney failure and those who are suffering from various kidney-related diseases. Through BookDoc, the public can now find out and conveniently book the free health screening services provided by NKF LifeCheck wherever it goes. We hope that the general public will take advantage of these free services for early detection of kidney-related diseases and reduce the likelihood of ending up with chronic kidney disease”.
